Thomas Wong

Senior Client Program Manager

I grew up in New York City so I’m a city kid at heart.  Although I had an intercity childhood, I was fortunate enough (due to a family friend) to go to summer camp in Maine which allowed me to learn about the outdoors and play many sports—everything from baseball, softball, soccer, volleyball, archery, riflery, canoeing, kayaking, and sailing.

I began my shopping center development career as a Project Manager for FAO Schwarz and then working for Simon Properties in New York City.  I subsequently worked for a consulting company which worked on Mall of America and several other shopping centers on the East Coast.  Afterwards I moved to California for a former boss, who hired me as the Assistant Director of Major Documentation for The Mills Corporation.  (The Mills Corporation was a “Value oriented Shopping Center Developer”.  The Mills properties have been absorbed by Westfield and Simon.)  Since then, I’ve worked for several shopping center developers such as The Irvine Company, Lewis Retail Development, O & S Holdings and CenterCal Properties.   Due to industry changes, I ended up working for an internationally known lighting designer, Francis Krahe & Associates, executing special projects.  Through these relationships I’ve developed a strong background in design development and lighting.
