I like the people at CDR, everyone is very positive and works well together. I like the CDR trips we go on, always a good adventure and great team bonding.

I appreciate the inherent sense of teamwork at CDR, as well as the individual freedom in many areas – work hours, engineering decisions, level of responsibility. We’re encouraged to think outside the box (not just do something because of tradition or “that’s how we’ve always done it here”) and find new, efficient solutions that save the developer time and money. I also look forward to our annual summer “team bonding” trips. I wouldn’t have discovered my appreciation for backpacking for whitewater rafting without them!

CDR is an upbeat, yet relaxed, environment. It is a warm and welcoming place where you can be yourself. As a team, we celebrate project “victories” together, meetings are actually fun (it’s not a CDR meeting unless there’s laughter), and we have coffee on tap – can’t go wrong there!

Although our clients and timelines are demanding it keeps me challenged. I’ve been at other companies where the projects are too big and split amongst teams and deadlines are not as tight. Here at CDR, you are involved in every phase of the project and the numerous items within those phases. There is no pigeon-holing so you don’t feel like you are performing the same tasks day in and day out. I enjoy the variety of projects that we do here. I also appreciate very much what Aaron does as an owner. He keeps the atmosphere of the office fun, which is not what you expect from an owner. In other offices, I’ve seen owners or senior management rarely come out of their offices and interact with staff. He is the opposite so you do feel that he’s right there with you in the trenches of preparing plans and coming up with good designs. He offers bonuses and company trips. You feel valued as an employee.
